CNC Monitor Badge

This badge allows you to monitor your projects running on CNC routers and mills

By completing this badge you will gain access to facilities containing CNC equipment and will be granted the ability to monitor your projects as they run on the CNC in conjunction with a CNC Operator. This badge is required for a student to complete any projects on the CNC and covers the basics of safe access of the space, the startup, preflight and cleanup procedures which will be executed by/with the Operator and is the responsibility of the monitor to ensure take place. 

Machine Access

Once you have learnt this badge you will be granted access to the following machines:

  • CNC Routers - Flat bed
Online Modules
Safe Work Procedure (SWP)

Please read the Safe Work Procedures document at the link below. You will be asked to enter your zID and zPass to access the document. Click the "Declare As Read" button on the SafeSys website (Warning website for Safesys is very slow), then check the declaration below on this page and press Submit.

Read through the information in the CNC Basics Learn Module. You will be asked questions on the information during the induction so make sure you pay attention.

Badge Training

Please enroll in one of the availible occurances of this training module.

Occurances with less than 2 bookings will be canceled.

If you are a non Built Environment student or staff member, and your having a problem getting a booking, contact Richard (r.blackwell@unsw.edu.au ) to be manually enrolled in one of thier exclusive sessions.

Inductions can be sceduled for groups 3 or more students at alternate times by contact Richard (r.blackwell@unsw.edu.au )
