The Plastics Lab houses 2 vacuum formers, and oven and 2 strip heaters to facilitate the various plastic work required by students and staff.

Students can be trained on the two Formech vacuum formers that allow vacuum forming on sheet sizes up to 508 x 457 mm and 686 x 660 mm with various windows available to reduce the sheet size. There are two strip heaters which facilitate the bending of thermoplastics to the desired shape. Also, a programable oven is available to pre-heat plastics for the vacuum formers or other processes.
