The DFL Wood Workshop is a fully equipped facility for the fabrication of timber-based models, prototypes, and components. It is typically the first workshop space users are inducted into within the DFL, establishing foundational skills in safe machine operation and material handling.
The Workshop Safety Badge provides access to bandsaws, disc and spindle sanders, drill presses, and a wide range of hand tools for shaping, assembling, and finishing timber projects. With additional training, users can gain access to the drop saw, wood lathes, etc to undertake more advanced fabrication tasks.
A table saw and thickness planer are available for staff use to accurately size and dress solid timber and sheet materials where required.
