Marcia Swaby is British of Jamaican and Caribbean heritage, based between Sydney, Australia and London, UK. She is a multi-disciplinary visual artist creating jewellery, wearables, prints and objects, recently incorporating photography and video work. In 2018, she graduated with a Master of Philosophy honoured with a faculty award for ‘Excellence in Post Graduate Research’ for her thesis Haptic tactility: how design processes can remediate identities past and present. Her studio-based research and theoretical practice investigates tactile means of connecting with obscured histories, re-joining fragments of the past into the present.
