The Making Centre is a group of interconnected workshops, studios and labs that are integral to the disciplines taught across the School of Art & Design.
Making in all its forms is a fundamental part of the School of Art & Design and the Making Centre team is there to support our students, staff and researchers through the whole process.
Our highly skilled team of artists and designers can guide you through every step of the making process across all disciplines.
Our team is there to support from the initial concept phase all the way through to the creation of physical artefacts that support understand and analyse the conceptual design and finally onto installation and exhibition or production.
The Making Centre has a range of highly equipped facilities that span across the Paddington Campus. They include The Resource Centre, Toolroom, Makerspace, Ceramics Studio, Jewellery Studio, Screen Printing and Printmaking Studios, Jewellery Studio and Textiles Studio. These spaces have a range of state of the art technology and equipment with all the fundamental necessities you would expect.

The UNSW Makerspace Network supports the University’s strategic goal of cross faculty collaboration, project-based learning, course integration of student led projects, industry engagement and building as an entrepreneurial ecosystem.

If you have any questions, please come and have a chat or write to: artdesignmakingcentre@unsw.edu.au and we will endeavour to respond within 24hrs. Noting that we do not have the capacity to provide fabrication, material and file checking via email or teams - an in person discussion is required for most technical advice.
