Here are some useful resources/applications that can be used in conjunction with the machines in The Makerspace.
If you have any questions or just want some help with a project come in and chat to The Makerspace staff or email us and we can direct you on how to get started with your project.
3D Modeling Software
Autodesk Fusion 360 is 3D modeling software that is accesible to students free for 1 year. Great for use in connection with 3D printing, CNC routing or even Laser Cutting. Below is the link for Fusion 360 for students and educators you just need to make an education account and download.
Here are some resources for learning to use it:

3D Scultping Program
Meshmixer is a prototype 3D Sculpting program based on high-resolution triangle meshes. It has many tools and functions used for remeshing, scultpting, smoothing and combining 3D models.
Here are some resources for learning to use it:
Slicing and Flatpacking Software
Slicer is an additional 3D model software that slices and converts 3D models into 2D patterns that can then put used to cut out on the Laser Cutter or CNC Routers. It can be used to turn a model into interlocking pieces, layered slices or even foldable designs. Slicer also creates 3D instructions you can interact with, to help build the model after it has been sliced.
Online 3D Model Library
Thingiverse is an online library of community created 3D models and Laser Cutting designs. It has thousands of models and designs that are avialable under creative commons licencences to be used or altered for part of a project or for personal use.
