We use Lascaux paste to create a screen-printing ink from acrylic paint. Please never use acrylic paint directly on your screen as it dries too quickly and will block your screen.
Any acrylic paint can be mixed with Lascaux, it doesn't need to be the best quality paint at all. Officeworks sell a good range of paints at all levels of affordability.
For an opaque coverage of ink use a mixture of 60% acrylic paint and 40% Lascaux.
For a more transparent coverage use 40% acrylic paint and 60% Lascaux.
We supply large and medium plastic tubs and lids to use when mixing your ink.
Please stick an 'Acrylic Ink' label on the container and put your name on it so that people don't use it. It's probably best to keep your ink in a locker until you're finished with the ink, then feel free to leave it on the rainbow shelf for others to use if you don't need it. Also feel free to use ink that has been left on the shelf (other than ones that say DO NOT USE).
