The OMAX ProtoMAX is a compact, precision abrasive waterjet cutter designed for prototyping, research, and small‑scale manufacturing. Using a high‑pressure stream of water and abrasive, it can accurately cut a wide range of materials—including metals, plastics, composites, rubber, and stone—without heat distortion.
Ideal for flat components and custom parts, the ProtoMAX supports rapid iteration and complex shapes while maintaining excellent edge quality. This machine is well suited to engineering, design, and fabrication projects where accuracy and material flexibility are essential.
Induction and training are required prior to use.
Before using the ProtoMax Waterjet, you must have completed both the Makerspace Induction to the ProtoLAB and the ProtoMax Waterjet Induction.
Please allow approx. 1 hour for the induction to this equipment.
The ProtoMax Induction covers safe operation, material handling, and booking requirements. Once inducted, you will be able to book ProtoMax Waterjet sessions through the Makerspace booking system.
All required inductions must be completed prior to your operation of this equipment.
