Individual Training on the Metal Mills

This badge gives a basic overview to using the Metal Mill in a tutorial environment. After attending the Badge Training session Makerspace staff will keep a training log of each users progress.  Once the user has completed the project, they are qualified to work under supervision on all techniques demonstrated in the module.

To gain unsupervised access to tools, students will be required to complete the Metal Mill Operator Badge.

 

Pre-requisite Badge/s

  1. Workshop Safety Induction Badge (WS)
  2. Sheet Metal Safety Induction Badge (SM-E)

Once you have earnt this badge you will be granted access to the following machines:

  • Metal Manual Mill
Online Components
Metal Mill SWP
Metal Mill Training Notes
TAFE Certificate
Certificate Upload Form

Booking Link

This is a link to book time on the Metal Mill. You MUST have completed the practical training component to make a booking. When arriving for your booking you will need to check in with a supervising staff member who will be able to oversee the use and the logging of training hours.

Training Log Hours Form

This is a link to the form in which users can submit the hours they have logged on machines as part of their training log modules. Responses to the form are submitted to the nominated supervisor for approval. This should only be filled out after completing the hours and after checking in with the supervising staff member.
