Basic induction to Metal Working for MME

Learn practical metal working skills in this 2 hour group badge training session. This badge training session is assessed and if you are deemed competent you will receive your Mech Metal Safety Induction Badge. This badge is a requirement for the Mechanical Engineering courses MECH3110 and AERO3110. 

This induction will include all of the machinery listed below, along with engineering measuring, marking and techniques for using metalworking hand tools. 

This is a 2 hour induction for MECH3110/AERO3110 students. Students must complete the SWP and Quiz before attending this practical session. 

Machine Access

Once you have learnt this badge you will be granted access to the following machines:

  • Guillotine
  • Magnabend/Panbrake
  • Metal Bandsaw
