What services do you provide?

We provide CAD and design services for both education and research. We will design your parts to be machine reading for one of our partners within the Makerspace Network or Manufacturing Hub. For some designs, it may also be possible for us to manufacture the parts for you!

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

________________________________________________________________________________

What do I need to bring?

Anything you've got! This service is designed to be inclusive of anyone from UNSW regardless of technical knowledge or academic background!
No need to have fully dimensioned engineering drawings or CAD models!

We want to take a more personal approach, we want to understand why you need the part rather than just submitting drawings and dimensions.
Hopefully this will mean something that works first time - rather than something not fitting due to a missed measurement!

How much does it cost to have something designed?

We charge a flat rate of $75 an hour for design and machining work in addition to the cost of the materials.

How quickly can I get help?

We endeavour to get back to you within 2-3 days of your messages! Our team is active on Teams and will try to reply to you sometime during Makerspace Opening hours.
