Textiles Studio

The Textiles Studio Badge covers Health and Safety of the Textiles Studio, including using the Janome HD9 straight-stitch sewing machines and the industrial steam iron.

The Textiles Studio badge will teach particiapnts Health and Safety relating to, and effective use of the Textiles Studio, sewing machines and industrial steam irons. 

Participants will learn how to wind a bobbin, load a bobbin, thread up the machine, sew a basic straight stitch, troubleshoot stitch tension issues, the parts of the sewing machine and their functions, and how to use the industrial steam iron. 

Participants are required to wear enclosed footwear and tie back long hair.

Machine Access

Once you have learnt this badge you will be granted access to the following machines:

  • Spray Gun
Reading Module
Textiles Studio SWP
