Toolroom Pedestal Grinder
The Pedestal Grinder badge focuses on the safe use and operation of the pedestal grinder for grinding, sharpening, and shaping metal.
This induction focuses on the safe use of the pedestal grinder, covering essential Health & Safety, hazards, required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and workshop guidelines.
Students will learn how to correctly set up and operate the pedestal grinder, including wheel selection, tool rest adjustment, and safe grinding techniques for controlled material removal.
Students may complete a simple task using the pedestal grinder to demonstrate safe and correct use.
Please attend in covered footwear and appropriate clothing.
